When did you start playing poker and why?
I started playing poker when I was 18 years old just for fun with friends because my best friend introduced the game to us. After a while I totally fell in love with poker, started doing strategy stuff and going to casinos playing small cash games.
Where is your favorite place to play?
To be honest, I like the Kings Casino in Rozvadov a lot. It’s the best place to play poker near Germany.
If you could play heads up with anyone past or present, who would it be and why?
I think I would pick Fedor Holz because he is the best on the planet in my opinion. So even without the expectation of winning, I would love to play heads up against him. And after being destroyed by him I would ask nicely for a coaching.
What do you do when you are not playing poker?
I do a lot besides poker. Last autumn I went back to university to do my Masters in Educational Science. I’m also working as a TV host for different kinds of poker shows.
I started my own YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/c/nataliehof) a few months ago doing Vlogs and I also do Twitch streaming (https://www.twitch.tv/nataliehof).
Besides all of that I love going out and traveling and just having fun with friends and family.
How often do you play poker?
It depends on how much time I have.
What is your most prized possession?
I have the BEST friends and a lovely, supporting family. No money in the world could buy that.
What is the craziest thing anyone has ever said to you at the poker table?
No clue. I will tell you when something crazy happens.
What is your most memorable moment playing poker?
My most memorable moment playing poker was me winning the Ladies Event back in 2014 with the best rail you can ever imagine. It was a lot of fun.
What are your future career goals?
Obviously winning some tournaments and making a lot of money:) but, besides that, I would love to host more TV shows, maybe also do something different than poker because I like exploring new challenges.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
First of all a world cruise, I would loooove to do this. Second on my bucket list is to raise a family. Third and last but not least, would be winning the WSOP Main Event 😉
What would be your advice to women who are just getting involved in poker?
My advice to women is to just enjoy poker, improve your game and show men how to play poker. Poker is a mind game and it has nothing to do with physical strength. Just try it out!
What is your favourite meal and where can we find it?
My favorite meal is ”Grünkohl mit Pinkel“. It’s a German dish during winter time. It looks disgusting but tastes like heaven. You can find the best at my mom’s place.
So next time you are in Germany you are invited 😉
What is your favourite past-time?
Cooking and eating with friends.
Most embarrasing moment?
Uhhh, it was a long time ago, 2011, WSOP. I did an interview with a poker player and he was talking so long and I was barely listening. Ok, I didn’t listen at all to be clear. I was just being nervous and thinking about what to ask next. So I decided to ask him about a specific hand he played.
Bad thing was he just talked about that hand for about ten minutes. He was not amused and we didn’t use the interview obviously.
What can a man do to make you smile at the table?
A very caustic sense of humor is the key to make me smile.
BONUS QUESTION: What’s the sexiest thing about a man?
A good smile and having a sense of humor for sure.
